Overview
A North-West based NHS Trust are looking to appoint a Director of Estates to join their senior management team during this period of exciting transformation. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Performance, the Director of Estates has overall responsibility for the Trust’s physical assets and the provision of facilities management services that currently include:

Estate, Land and Property Management

Directly managed services – Catering, Cleaning, Portering, Transport, Grounds and Gardens, Energy Management

Services managed under contract – Building Maintenance, Linen, Waste
Key aspects of the role

Delivery of a major multi-site redevelopment and site rationalisation programme

Management of the Trust’s annual Capital Development Programme

Responsibility for all aspects of FM services including operation, performance, compliance and budget management

Lead the Trust’s Environmental Strategy and Carbon Management Plan

Advise the Executive Team and Board on all relevant aspects of Estates and FM Services

As a senior member of the management team, to contribute to overall Trust plans and performance

Represent the Trust in various external settings and in dealings with other agencies

Contribute to, and ensure observance of, Trust policies
Their Estate
This is a varied and interesting estate across 35 sites (94% freehold) with a total floor area of c.100,000m² The Trust provides services from 60 buildings with a total asset value of over £150m and total FM spend of £13m. The age of the estate is diverse ranging from 200 year old properties through to Victorian, post-war and modern new builds.
