The wide remit of this role covered a range of FM principles across a number of departments.
The post holder coordinates building maintenance and repairs that affect normal building operation – supervising and coordinating the work of contractors and ensuring minimum disruption to core activities and clients.
Directing, coordinating and planning essential central services such as security, maintenance, cleaning, waste disposal and recycling is also a key component of the role.
The Facilities and Building Manager is also responsible for calculating and comparing costs for required goods or services to achieve maximum value for money in addition to planning for future development in line with strategic business objectives.
Project Management is also pivotal to the role as the post holder manages building improvement projects from planning/ contractor tender stage to building control sign off including managing sub-contractors.
