Maxwell Stephens

CASE STUDY:

Royal College of Arts

Maxwell Stephens were appointed by the Royal College of Arts (RCA) in September 2020 to source and appoint 12 Campus Supervisors. The RCA is a specialist, research-intensive postgraduate institution and is the world’s number one university for art and design. Based in the heart of London, these Campus Supervisor roles were to be based at each of the RCA’s three campuses (Kensington, Battersea and White City).

As you are well aware, 2020 was a tumultuous year to say the least due to the disruption and restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of this, the RCA needed to ensure that their campus was prepared for the safe return of their community to its campuses. RCA needed urgent support to get this done, and tasked us with finding 12 Campus Supervisors as quickly as possible.

Due to the urgent nature of this recruitment project, we at Maxwell Stephens were given the autonomy and responsibility to source, interview and fill all 12 of Campus Supervisor positions. A key aspect of these roles was the highly visible, customer-facing nature of the work, requiring bubbly, approachable and motivated individuals who had excellent communication skills and the ability to work off their own initiative.

As specialist Facilities Management recruiters, we had immediate access to a large pool of highly experienced and suitable candidates who we knew would fit the role profile as well as the RCA’s ethos. We this in mind we were able to complete the recruitment assignment in just one week!
