The University helps new employees settle in through central University induction events and local induction activities. They also provide a range of essential information through their online learning packages. These cover various topics, including induction, equal opportunities and health and safety.
Additional support is offered to those new to Cambridge in the form of the Newcomers and Visiting Scholars Group. It helps newly arrived wives, husbands, partners and families of Visiting Scholars and Senior Members of the University to settle down in Cambridge and gives them an opportunity to meet local people.
The University of Cambridge welcome and support individuals from under-represented groups and have various staff networks which help to progress equality; these include the Women’s Staff Network, the Disabled Staff Network, the Black and Minority Ethnic Staff Network and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Staff Network. They also hold a wide-range of Equality and Diversity events on a regular basis.
