About the Role:

As the Chief Engineering Officer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the effective management of operational, statutory, mandatory, and maintenance delivery. This exciting opportunity includes responsibilities such as:

• Setting individual managers' output requirements

• Developing and managing maintenance strategies

• Implementing operational best practices

• Driving energy management projects and PPM tasks

• Managing contractors and term service contracts

• Minimizing business operational risk

• Collaborating with the Asset Improvement team for life cycle cost optimisation

Key Responsibilities

As a key leader, your responsibilities will include:

• Technical Management: Overseeing the effective management support of the engineering maintenance team, developing staff, and enhancing operational delivery.

• Health & Safety: Ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation, maintaining operational health and safety plans, and integrating maintenance with the College’s H&S policy.

• Team Development: Providing management support, ensuring teamwork, high morale, and staff development through training plans and succession planning.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

We're looking for a candidate with:

• Mechanically/Electrically qualified with a proven track record in managing M&E contracts across multiple properties.

• Strong leadership skills and experience managing operational teams under pressure.

• Proven track record of managing safe systems of work and building compliance.

• Solution-driven approach, P&L management experience, and cross-boundary working skills.

• NEBOSH certification and experience in the higher education sector (desirable).
