We have been instructed by a leading corporate organisation to find a senior lead for M&E Engineering and Other Technical Services.

 

The role will be highly varied and you will be tasked with managing, promoting, and being responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of the full range of technical services.

 

The ideal candidate’s background

 

Educated to a minimum of degree level with professional membership and with a NEBOSH certificate, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience and success in managing the technical services to large complex commercial sites.

 

You’re driven by customer services and you’ve carried out your previous roles effectively through open two-way communication between all stakeholders.

 

You have a strong grasp on a wide range of economic and organisational issues and can successfully manage multiple ongoing projects and assignments.

 

Having worked in engineering management in the past, you have developed an extremely customer-focused attitude and a flexible working style in order to deliver the best service possible. With a high level of proficient reliability, you are established to continually change and enhance the way you do things.

 

As a highly results-orientated individual, you have a great deal of experience in planning and indeed project management. Advanced thinking will be required whilst being extremely well organised.

 

Main responsibilities

 

You’ll have full responsibility for ensuring all services and equipment are maintained in accordance with set standards and that they operate effectively in all periods. You’ll also take on reviews of responsibilities and all correspondence.

 

Other important duties include the regular inspection of:

  • All machinery, technology, infrastructure and all occupied buildings in their entirety, monitoring the progress of any works being implemented.
  • All areas being in prime condition.

 

For planned maintenance, you’ll make certain that all works are carried out efficiently and effectively, keeping required records up to date. Also (and including for unscheduled maintenance), you’ll prepare and implement maintenance programs using the given computerised database for the relevant plan and equipment. You’ll also be responsible for scheduling and supervising all contract works and repairs, making sure that the works are to specification and in the best interests of all customers.

 

On budgetary matters, you’ll manage costs in line with allocated funding (or agreed variances) associated with planned maintenance, project, and additional remedial works. You’ll initiate and process purchase order requests in compliance with agreed procedures and expenditure limits.

 

Management of people will come under your remit.

 

You’ll report on all technical functions relating to systems to the senior management team, keeping everyone fully informed on all maintenance/engineering matters, and co-ordinate with the stakeholders on the recruitment and training of staff.

 

You’ll control, monitor and implement the agreed procedures and testing regimes

 

Other duties include:

 

Assisting the client in coordinating and controlling the approval of the technical Elements of proposed work by all internal customers

Being the company’s lead on the full range of Technical issues.

Preparing specification for any new works or modifications to existing services Ensuring minimal disruption to business while work is being carried out
