Key Responsibilities:

Statutory Savvy: Lead the charge in ensuring it meets its statutory obligations in fire safety, providing invaluable advice to senior leadership teams, managers, and beyond.

Policy Pioneer: Develop and implement cutting-edge policies and procedures to control fire hazards effectively. Be the guardian of our 'fire safety management system,' maintaining and delivering excellence across all buildings.

Risk Mitigator: Step into the shoes of the Responsible Person, wielding the power to suspend activities if there's a serious fire risk. Ensure pre-occupation fire safety assessments are conducted for all projects, refurbishments, and works.

Custodian of Culture: Maintain and promote the Fire Safety Risk Management Standard, fostering a positive fire safety culture within our diverse community.

Assessment Authority: Lead in maintaining high-quality standards for fire risk assessments, ensuring certification and validation for both internal teams and third-party consultants.

Data Dynamo: Provide essential output of data, documentation, and reports to relevant groups and committees, guaranteeing transparency and accountability.

Audit Aficionado: Commission and oversee external audits of fire safety systems and management every two years, ensuring the utmost compliance and readiness.

Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with faculty leads, department heads, and senior managers, ensuring they are equipped to manage fire safety effectively. Foster strong relationships with Fire and Rescue Services to stand with the client during inspections.

Fire Safety Team Maestro: Manage, develop, and lead the fire safety team to greatness. Oversee working practices, continuous professional development, and budget management.

Other Duties: Embrace flexibility, demonstrate commitment, and keep your finger on the pulse of legislative changes to ensure standards are unparalleled.
