About the Role:

As the Director of Major Projects, you will play a pivotal role in bringing our vision to life. You will provide strategic oversight for the delivery of all major capital projects across the estate, ensuring that they align with the approved business case objectives. Reporting to the Director of Estates Development and the Director of Operations, you will be a key ambassador for our client, representing on various governance bodies and driving a zero-tolerance safety culture across all projects. Your responsibilities will include:

Leading and inspiring teams to deliver major projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Resolving complex project issues and providing senior guidance and support as needed.

Collaborating closely with stakeholders, project sponsors, and external partners to ensure seamless project delivery.

Advocating for fostering strong relationships with internal faculties, divisions, and departments, as well as external stakeholders.

Establishing effective procurement strategies for design teams and contractors.

Driving a culture of innovation, sustainability, and excellence in project delivery.

What We're Looking For:

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader with a proven track record in project leadership and management. The ideal candidate will have:

A formal qualification in an engineering/construction/project management discipline and membership in a relevant professional body.

A degree-level education coupled with a postgraduate management qualification.

Extensive experience in a project leadership role, successfully managing major capital projects valued at over £100 million.

Strong knowledge and experience in contract management, procurement, cost management, and supply chain management.

Outstanding communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.

Strategic planning expertise, including sourcing options and procurement for major projects.

Previous experience working in a senior position for a large organization, demonstrating sound commercial awareness.

A customer-focused approach with a track record of delivering high-quality service.

The ability to lead diverse teams and create an inclusive environment that fosters excellence.
