Reporting to the Centre Manager you will enjoy responsibility for the operational activities for this multi–tenanted retail shopping centre on behalf of our customer’s premier clients. You will need to be dynamic and enthusiastic by nature with a keen interest and demonstrable experience in Operations and ideally Marketing in order to make a significant contribution to the success of the centre.

You will work in partnership with the existing tenants and assist them by offering both proactive and responsive service to achieve their goals with a single vision across the whole of the centre for marketing strategies. Ensuring compliance with both leases and Health & Safety at all times you will maximise the retail experience and work on developing new partnerships within the town.

Successful individuals will need experience of managing a Shopping / Retail site and will be expected to take operational responsibility for all on site activity at the Centre and for managing this important asset. You will be a self-motivated individual, able to build and manage a team and have experience of managing Budgets, Marketing, and of the management of Sub-Contractors.

This role is highly customer focused, so preference will be given to candidates with excellent inter-personal and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be able to show a strong commercial awareness with the ability to gain the respect of key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with developing and maintaining a positive image of the building in its location
  • To monitor all activities relating to the centre(s), reporting and taking action as appropriate
  • To address any operational queries raised by tenants
  • To attend and actively participate in meetings with service providers
  • In the absence of the Centre Manager/Director, act as point of escalation for operational issues and take appropriate steps to address
  • Work in partnership with the service provider to ensure KPI’s are met, standards of presentation are maintained and service improvements are implemented as appropriate
  • Regular inspections of the building fabric
  • To work with colleagues and external consultants in ensuring a maintenance and repair programme is in place
  • To compile and maintain records relating to the centre; e.g. asset register, plans, plant testing, etc., taking any action which may be required
  • To produce regular reports to Centre Manager/Director and surveying team, as required
  • To manage major work programmes on site, acting as the liaison point for all parties involved
  • Assist with the drafting, control and reporting of service charge budget and expenditure for the centre
  • Assist with the management of Health and Safety compliance on site, and the maintenance of records and the Meridian system
  • To support Environmental management initiatives for the centre, in compliance with policies
  • To proactively manage risk, including incident management, in conjunction with the Centre Manager/Director
  • To ensure the centre achieves the KPIs set by the client, in conjunction with the Centre Manager/Director and Surveying colleagues
  • To adhere to all policies and procedures at all times

You should be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience within the facilities management sector or a service driven environment
  • Experience of successfully delivering targets
  • Proven ability to understand and analyse data and create/recommend solutions to problems
  • Ability to work with a broad spectrum of internal and external contacts
  • IOSH or NEBOSH (preferred)
