Maxwell Stephens’ client, an international company with operations in numerous countries, is currently recruiting a Facilities & H&S Manager at its central London offices on the South Side of the River Thames in SE1. Headquartered in London and another European City. this innovative internet-based business employs over 700 people in its wider group.

Maxwell Stephens, the UK’s leading facilities management recruitment company, have been appointed by the client to find a Facilities & H&S Manager who can provide the onsite colleagues, visitors, and contractors with a safe, secure, high quality environment underpinned by compliance at all levels and efficient and effective service delivery

Role priorities

In addition to controlling and managing all H&S-related issues, your role is to ensure the effective daily running of the office, directing and planning reception, personal security, maintenance, and cleaning among your other responsibilities. On take-up of the role, you’ll become the company’s environmental champion, always seeks potential new opportunities to enhance sustainability.

You’ll make sure our client’s premises offer an optimal, safe, and cost-effective environment for every occupant, at all times achieving corporate and regulatory compliance.

Our client’s business is evolving and changing so space planning (in line with statutory requirements) is key for both office moves and for onboarding new starters.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining, testing, and inspecting the safe and efficient operation of facilities within the building, ensuring a reduction in the risk of failure and that all statutory obligations are met. When contractors are on site, you’ll supervise and coordinate their work to minimise disruption to our client’s core activities.

About you

Career-wise, you’re a member of BIFM, degree-educated, NEBOSH-certified and have a minimum of 7 years’ industry experience at a similar level of responsibility. You’ll bring to our client’s business experience of relocation management, security system management and project management.

You have experience of working with M&E and can show a good understand of HVAC, electrical systems and PPM. You have an in-depth application-based knowledge of H&S compliance and risk management.

Personality-wise, you’re a tenacious, self-motivated deliverer of high quality results who works well under their own initiative and doesn’t need close management. You’re excellent at planning and organising, know what the right questions are and how to plan based upon the answers you get, and you’re got a natural ability to set strategic priorities based upon the insights you gain from your in-built attention to detail.
