An opportunity for a Facilities Manager has arisen to work for our client, a service provider on their educational establishment site in West London. This is a permanent opportunity for an experienced Facilities Manager currently working within the education sector.

The role of Facilities Manager will be to manage, plan and co-ordinate the activities of the on-site FM team to ensure reactive maintenance tasks are carried out within the agreed SLA’s. Build and monitor the delivery of an effective Planned Preventative Maintenance Programme to ensure building compliancy. Whilst providing a safe environment for all building users at all times and to ensure that the building and grounds are maintained to the highest possible standards


  • Manage the day to day operations of the on-site team including holiday and absence management
  • Manage the security of the site strategically with the incumbent contractor, including all grounds and key holder duties.
  • Full responsibility for the implementation of company safety, health and environmental policies applicable to their contract.
  • Promote teamwork and motivate staff to ensure effective working relations
  • Manage the daily and periodic cleaning with external contractor
  • To ensure that all tasks issued from the helpdesk are completed in line with SLA’s
  • Ensuring the site is legally compliant, keeping up to date water, fire and health and safety logs.
  • Seek alternative sources for funding and compiling bids for submission
  • Ensuring contractual compliance and service delivery in line with agreed specifications, budgetary restraints , SLA’s and KPI’s
  • Develop and update emergency response plan and business continuity plan, ensure all amendments are tracked and controlled
  • Provide constant assistance and support in strengthening partnerships and close working relationships with the client and external companies
  • Monitor the occupancy of the building ensuring compliance within statutory regulation, mandatory legislation and recognised best practice
  • Monthly report to client on helpdesk functions
  • Production of any additional reports that the client requires including satisfaction surveys and contractor performance reports.
  • Monitor expenditure and submit accurate monthly forecast, providing relevant P&L data to line management.
  • Manage the lettings for out of hours events and communicate effectively with lettings manager

  • Experience working on site FM contracts preferably within the Education section
  • Understands the importance of provider/client relationships in the environment of change.
  • Understands how to achieve a sustainable building.
  • IOSH/NEBOSH qualification
