Cushman & Wakefield recently approached Maxwell Stephens to support in the recruitment of a Building Manager to be based at the amazing Thames Tower development in Reading (www.thamestower.co.uk). Maxwell Stephens were tasked with finding a pro-active and hardworking individual with commercial real estate experience to join the fast-growing and profitable team at Cushman & Wakefield.

The Position

Key to this position was having the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders. This includes managers, contractors, tenants and occupiers. The Building Manager would be required to liaise regularly with all tenants to keep them up-to-date.

The role includes the delivery of the agreed service as direct and to deliver service to a consistent high standers of facilities management within a predefined scope to unmanned properties.

The post holder would also be required to coordinate the operational day to day aspects of building management including the management of contractors and organising unscheduled maintenance and reactive works, and all in compliance with Cushman & Wakefield risk management practices.

In addition, the Building Manager would need to act as the first point of contact for tenant queries and escalation from the Service Desk.

The Candidate

In regards to qualifications, the ideal candidate for this role would be qualified to Degree level, working toward RICS Associate FM Qualifications of BIFM equivalent, and they would prepared to undertake IOSH certification.

With a strong eye for detail and pro-active approach, the post holder would need to have the ability to quickly assimilate information as well as the ability to take instruction and act upon direction effectively.
