Background
We recently filled the position of Facilities Officer for the Sainsbury Family Charitable Trusts (SFCT) located at The Peak, 5 Wilton Road, London. SFCT required a professional to support the day-to-day operations and facilities management within a complex office environment, ensuring high standards of maintenance, health and safety compliance, and overall operational efficiency.
The Challenge
The role of the Facilities Officer was crucial for the smooth operation of the SFCT office. The successful candidate needed to support the Operations and Facilities Manager in managing buildings and facilities maintenance, contractor management, and health & safety compliance. Responsibilities included coordinating essential central services such as reception, security, maintenance, and cleaning, along with project management and contractor supervision.
We sought a candidate with a recognised facilities qualification, substantial relevant experience, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate also had to be flexible, proactive, and discreet, capable of managing emergencies and maintaining high standards in a dynamic environment.
