In Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Techo International Airport, designed by Foster + Partners, is poised to become a beacon of green aviation. The airport seamlessly blends aesthetics, functionality, and environmental responsibility.

Architectural Innovation: Inspired by Cambodia's heritage, the airport features a vast roof canopy supported by structural trees, symbolizing lightness and modularity. This architectural marvel offers shelter from the tropical heat and marks a sustainable gateway for travellers.

Biophilic Design: Techo Airport incorporates mature trees within the terminal, enhancing visual appeal and fostering a connection with nature, creating a welcoming atmosphere for passengers.

Solar-Powered Operation: A major stride in renewable energy, the airport is set to be powered almost entirely by an onsite photovoltaic farm, aligning with global sustainability goals.

Phased Development: The initial phase includes a central head house and aerofoil wings accommodating up to 13 million passengers annually. Future plans for a second aerofoil wing aim to expand capacity to 30 million passengers, emphasizing scalability and sustainability.
