We are partnering with a high-growth, founder-led UK retail organisation that continues to scale at pace. With expanding warehouse operations forming the core of the business, they are now seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to take ownership of Health & Safety and site management across both office and distribution environments.

This is a key operational role where warehouse safety, compliance, and infrastructure performance are central to business success.

The Role

Reporting to senior leadership, you will have full accountability for ensuring the warehouse and office environments operate safely, compliantly, and efficiently — with particular focus on maintaining robust standards across a busy, fast-paced warehouse setting.

You will play a hands-on role in shaping safety culture, maintaining operational infrastructure, and ensuring facilities support productivity on the warehouse floor.

Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety Leadership

• Lead health & safety across a high-activity warehouse and supporting office environment

• Develop and maintain risk assessments, policies, and safe systems of work

• Conduct regular warehouse inspections, audits, and compliance reviews

• Oversee MHE safety, racking inspections, manual handling procedures, and hazardous substances management

• Lead incident and near-miss investigations, implementing preventative actions

• Deliver H&S training and toolbox talks aligned to operational realities

• Act as primary contact for external audits and regulatory inspections

Facilities & Building Management

• Oversee day-to-day maintenance of warehouse infrastructure, utilities, and building fabric

• Manage contractors operating within active warehouse areas

• Ensure fire safety systems, emergency procedures, and environmental standards remain robust

• Manage service contracts, budgets, and compliance documentation

• Oversee site security systems including CCTV and access control

• Manage MHE servicing and statutory compliance

Operational Partnership

• Work closely with warehouse leadership to ensure facilities enhance workflow, layout efficiency, and safety

• Support expansion projects, layout changes, and operational improvements

• Maintain accurate compliance records and certifications

• Line manage receptionist and in-house cleaning team

• Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on risk profile and site performance

About You

• Proven facilities management experience within a warehouse, logistics, or industrial environment

• Strong working knowledge of UK H&S legislation and warehouse best practice

• Experience managing MHE compliance, racking safety, and fire systems

• Confident conducting audits, investigations, and risk assessments

• Experience managing contractors within operational warehouse settings

• Budget management experience

• NEBOSH General Certificate, IOSH or equivalent (essential)

• Strong communication and leadership capability

Experience within a growing, fast-paced, founder-led business environment would be highly advantageous.
