Maxwell Stephens is delighted to be partnering with a leading professional institute to recruit a Senior Facilities Manager into a pivotal, standalone role within their Corporate Services function.

This is a rare opportunity offering true flexibility ideal for an experienced facilities professional seeking a 4-day week (32 hours, £55,000) or even a 3-day option (c. £41,000) without compromising on seniority, impact, or scope.

The Role

Reporting directly to the senior management, you will take ownership of facilities operations across a small portfolio of London sites, ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable working environments. You will operate both strategically and hands-on, with responsibility for compliance, supplier management, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Support senior leadership on property matters including leases, space planning, and asset strategy

• Manage relationships with tenants, landlords, and managing agents

• Act as the organisation’s Health & Safety lead, ensuring full legislative compliance

• Oversee outsourced FM contracts, driving service quality and value

• Lead on maintenance, infrastructure, and workplace operations

• Champion sustainability initiatives and environmental performance

• Manage facilities budgets (~£1m expenditure) with a focus on efficiency and control

• Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, HR, and senior stakeholders

About You

• Proven experience in a senior facilities management role

• Strong background in health & safety, compliance, and risk management

• Experience managing contractors and outsourced services

• Commercially aware with budget management capability

• Confident stakeholder manager, able to influence at senior level

• Proactive, solutions-focused, and highly organised
