Background
We recently partnered with Evercore, a prestigious global financial services firm, to support multiple hires within their London and EMEA Real Estate & Facilities function. These roles were critical in ensuring both the day-to-day operational efficiency of their offices and the long-term strategic management of their international real estate portfolio.
The positions included a Facilities Assistant, supporting the smooth running of the London office, and a Real Estate & Workplace Strategy Associate, working closely with the Head of Real Estate Strategy & Operations (EMEA) to drive portfolio optimisation and workplace planning across multiple regions.
The Challenge
Both roles required distinct yet complementary skill sets, making this a particularly nuanced recruitment campaign.
The Facilities Assistant position demanded a hands-on, proactive individual responsible for:
• Maintaining the safe and efficient operation of the London office
• Managing mail distribution, logistics, and internal office moves
• Supporting health & safety compliance and access control systems
• Handling a wide range of day-to-day facilities tasks in a fast-paced environment
In contrast, the Real Estate & Workplace Strategy Associate role required a more analytical and strategic profile, with responsibilities including:
• Supporting the management of Evercore’s EMEA office portfolio
• Assisting with lease tracking, renewals, and real estate data management
• Conducting market analysis, benchmarking, and cost forecasting
• Coordinating workplace planning, space optimisation, and headcount analysis
• Supporting cross-border projects and stakeholder engagement across London, Europe, and the Middle East
The key challenge was to identify candidates who not only met the technical requirements of each role but also aligned with Evercore’s high-performance culture—demonstrating professionalism, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a demanding corporate environment.
Our Approach
Drawing on our extensive network and specialist expertise in facilities management and corporate real estate recruitment, we delivered a targeted and consultative search process.
For the Facilities Assistant, we focused on individuals with:
• Proven experience in corporate facilities environments
• Strong organisational skills and a hands-on approach
• The ability to manage multiple operational tasks efficiently
For the Real Estate & Workplace Strategy Associate, we identified candidates with:
• 1–3 years’ experience in corporate real estate or workplace strategy
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, including Excel proficiency
• Exposure to lease management, portfolio coordination, or property services
• The confidence to support senior stakeholders across multiple regions
Across both roles, cultural fit was paramount. We prioritised candidates who demonstrated initiative, strong communication skills, and a genuine commitment to supporting operational excellence.
The Results
Following a thorough recruitment process, we successfully placed two high-calibre professionals within Evercore’s team.
• The Facilities Assistant brought over two years of experience in a similar corporate environment, with a proven ability to manage facilities operations efficiently, solve problems proactively, and support a seamless workplace experience.
• The Real Estate & Workplace Strategy Associate joined with strong analytical capabilities, relevant real estate experience, and excellent stakeholder management skills, now contributing to portfolio optimisation and workplace strategy initiatives across EMEA.
Both candidates have integrated seamlessly into Evercore’s business, strengthening their ability to maintain high-performing office environments while supporting strategic growth across their international footprint.
