Our client, whom are a financial services institution is seeking a Head of Estates and Facilities to join them at the earliest possible convenience.
In this role, you’ll have both senior and professional responsibility for the delivery and management of all estate and facilities services across the company. Our client requires a proactive attitude to estate management through activities including purchase, sale, and landlord & tenant negotiations. You will also be responsible for the management of company facilities in a safe, secure, and efficient manner.
You will take the lead on effective management of the facilities and corporate service teams including receiving direct reports from the Buildings Maintenance and Project Manager, Corporate Services Manager and Office Services, and Help-desk Supervisor.
This role requires steady, assured, and imaginative leadership in a number of areas.
You will lead the Facilities and Corporate Service teams to deliver a “best in class” service in line with relevant policies, procedures, practices and regulations in order to drive forward the client’s strategic and operational objectives.
Cost quality control, regulatory requirements compliance, procurement and maintenance SLA performance will be a major part of your portfolio of responsibilities.
Our client’s assets include a mixture of freehold and leasehold properties. You will pro-actively manage this estate with attached responsibilities including sale, purchase, rent review, lease renewal negotiations with landlords and tenants, ratings revaluations, dilapidations negotiations, and obtaining planning and other third part consents.
Other important areas requiring your leadership include:
- health and safety provision,
- being the client’s Chief Fire Warden,
- compliance with all statutory and mandatory requirements with the outcome being a safe and secure environment through conducting planned periodic inspections of the property portfolio,
- physical security policies across the estate
- management of facilities KPIs
- engagement with the risk team ensuring any and all threats to core business functionality are identified and managed
- being the client’s Risk Champion
- being line manager and coach across all aspects of performance management, development, conduct, sickness management, appraisals, employee administration and recruitment.
In your post, you’ll ensure the development and implementation of property estates and facilities management policies, procedures, and systems so that they align with our client’s processes and values.
Our client wishes to engage as its new Head of Estates and Facilities an enthusiastic and knowledgeable professional with 5 years’ previous experience in FM and 3 years’ previous experience in both property and estates management, and line management.
You will need a detailed knowledge in managing a property estate and facilities function including staff and budgets, and Landlord and Tenant Estate Management and negotiation.
A GCSE/GCE qualification in both maths and English are essential, as is a RICS qualification.
3 years’ previous experience in H&S, a good working knowledge of H&S and qualifications in H&S are desirable as is qualification to a degree standard.
