- To manage and ensure the security of the academy premises at all times
- Ensuring the premises are open for use as and when required and that the premises are secured at the end of the day
- To ensure the site remains a safe environment at all times
- To work alongside Trustees and the Senior Leadership Team to create and maintain a facilities management programme for the academy
- Negotiate the renewal and manage the arrangements of maintenance contracts and associated SLAs for the academy
- To ensure daily the lighting and heating of premises are functioning appropriately
- To ensure that all mechanical and electrical plant, life safety systems, security systems are properly maintained and are compliant with the academy’s insurance providers requirements
- To ensure that the maintenance protocols for the hydrotherapy pool are rigidly adhered to
- To oversee the cleaning of the whole academy building and liaise with the cleaning contractor
- To take due regard and to implement planned preventive maintenance procedures in accordance with Operating and Maintenance Manuals received from the main contractor at practical completion / handover of the new school
- Maintain high professional standards of attendance, punctuality, appearance and conduct
- The Post holder must comply with the Academy’s Security, Health and safety rules and regulations, and with Health and Safety legislation
- Contribute to the overall ethos, work and aims of the school
- All staff are required to participate in the school’s performance management review process following successful completion of probation
- Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times
- Undertake any such activities deemed suitable by the Head Teacher/Governing Body commensurate with grade and experience
Person Specification
- Good standard of general education
- Demonstrable experience of successfully managing planned and reactive maintenance, site/facilities management and health and safety
- Training and/or experience in one or more of the following: general maintenance, electrical/building maintenance, heating systems, grounds work
- Full clean driving licence – willing to take minibus test
- Good ICT and technical skills including knowledge of
- MS office, Excel and Word
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Highly developed interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional planning and organisational skills including ability to prioritise own workload and adhere to deadlines
- Ability to maintain accurate records with good attention to detail
