By joining the University, you will be responsible for creating and operating the University’s Estate, Facilities and Commercial Services. Queen Mary 2030 Strategy set out an ambitious growth vision for the next 10 years. This will see the total number of students double.
In this position you will hold a key leadership position in the development, upkeep and servicing of the University Estate. You will ensure that the physical Estate is safe, compliant, resilient, efficient, and well-maintained for the students, staff and visitors.
You will be accountable for the Operational Leadership of a large and diverse team across all Hard and Soft Services as well as Environmental Sustainability.
You have a degree or recognised qualification in a Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management or related discipline as well as being a member of a relevant professional body.
You are a positive role model with experience in the delivery of Total Facilities Management across large Estates, alongside this you have experience in managing in-house and contracted services as well as experience in project management.
As a flexible, enthusiastic and hard worker you will successfully be able to deliver change management while planning and manging significant financial and staffing resources related to all aspects of facilities management.
You will passionately and positively lead the Soft and Hard FM teams across the whole University London campuses to ensure that the infrastructure is maintained and developed. As well as ensuring that the University Estate is maintained to a high standard.
You will be responsible to ensuring that all buildings are maintained in accordance to Fire Safety and Health and Safety legalisation while supporting the Environmental Sustainability team.
As part of this role you will ensure that risk assessments are being carried out and that all staff are aware of Health and Safety requirements and their obligations.
You will participate in technical and stakeholders’ meetings for the delivery of projects to ensure the all projects are compliant. To ensure that you are contributing to the overall development of the University Estate and represent the University at both internal and external committees and meetings.
You will also lead on the development and control of the significant EAF Engineering and Estates Management pay and none pay annual budget preparations. Provide regular reporting into the EAF Performance and Monitoring Board. You will lead the transition to Strategic Asset Management and Holistic Life Cycle Management of the University Physical Estate.
