Maxwell Stephens have been asked to recruit on behalf of our client, a renowned education establishment, for the role of Maintenance Operative, who will be responsible for undertaking Hard Services planned preventative and reactive maintenance throughout the company, ensuring adherence to operational, regulatory and compliance requirements.
In this post you will report to the Team Leader and will work day shifts (standard hours Monday-Friday).
For this role you will have a good understanding of Health & Safety issues.
You will be a certified Mechanical, Electrical or HVAC Craft Apprenticeship and / or have a City & Guilds certificate within an appropriate engineering discipline.
You will demonstrate good IT skills.
You will be a good communicator with the ability to motivate others within a team. You will also have an enthusiastic and flexible approach to the role and your responsibilities.
In this role there are several key responsibilities.
You will deliver a planned and reactive maintenance programme while ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines and regulations is upheld at all times.
You will update site-specific work schedules and reprogramme regularly.
You will conduct statutory system and asset testing and report findings accordingly. You will also deal responsibly with emergencies and breakdowns.
You will help to ensure Health and Safety requirements and documentation is maintained in an accurate manner..
You will be flexible to work occasionally outside of normal hours to deal with certain maintenance procedures and specialist contractors.
You will liaise with, monitor and control the activities of all outside contractors working on site. An excellent level of customer service will be delivered at all times.
