Maxwell Stephens have been asked to recruit on behalf of a consulting company for a Senior Consulting Engineer.

The responsibilities of the Senior Consulting Engineer will include managing the assigned deliverables in each project in terms of time scales, scope and budget.



Your Role

You will undertake site inspections and surveys at various buildings providing technical reports with accuracy and within set time limits. You will review all necessary paperwork for each building and make recommendations when required.

You will be involved with maintenance management, contractor liaison and manage contractor meetings. You will be responsible for the timely coordination and chairing of meetings, note taking and timely distribution of meeting minutes.

You will correspond with clients via emails and telephone calls. You will follow up  with clients regarding any outstanding issues and giving updates on ongoing projects.

You will have an understanding of building’s leases and financial costing for lifecycle and technical due diligence, followed by a solid recommendation to the client on the best way forward. This will include the ability to estimate costing for remedial works or replacement on engineering services.

Your responsibilities will also include but are not limited to; sourcing sub-contractor quotes, full management of start to end project delivery including ensuring all information of the project is communicated to all stakeholders.

You will be responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation whilst establishing and maintaining relationships with clients and third parties.

Skills and Experience

You will have a degree in Building Services or related discipline. You will also have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in similar working environments and an excellent understanding of the engineering services.

You will have a ‘can do’ attitude with the ability to problem solve. You will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will be proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Publisher and Outlook.

You be organised with proven ability to multitask and prioritise for multiple stakeholders. You will be a member of CIBSE, IWFM, IET or other relevant professional bodies.
