This is simply not just an average role for a Building Manager – Our client are looking for something better, more advanced and more Intune with the modern requirements of a 5 Star Building.



  • Organisation of preventative building maintenance and repairs, risk management, cleaning and procurement of contracts.
  • Overseeing and developing budgets for workspace improvements both in physical space and service provisions.
  • Contract Management of office fit outs, calculating and comparing costs for required goods or services to achieve maximum value for money.
  • Checking that agreed work by contractors has been completed satisfactorily and following up on any deficiencies.
  • Organising and chairing meetings with staff with regards to any office/event recommendations/suggestions and/or issues.
  • Assisting in the onboarding of new staff
  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to any other roles reporting directly to the incumbent;
  • Supervise and coordinate overall administrative activities for the Facilities Department
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with key suppliers and contractors.
  • Checking that agreed work by contractors has been completed satisfactorily and following up on any deficiencies.
  • The management of the purchasing and stock control of all general office supplies. Ensuring that we are obtaining the best prices from our suppliers.
  • Accurately signing off invoices for payment.
  • Overall responsibility to ensure the workspace is kept tidy and organised, liaise with the cleaners and book rubbish collections as required.
  • Providing support on other adhoc projects as required by the Workspace Experience and Facilities Director.
  • Regular communications/status updates to stakeholders – Stoke senior management and Workspace Experience and Facilities Director.
  • Responsibility for day to day Health & Safety compliance, fire safety and first aid. Ensuring risks are assessed and mitigating actions are put in place.
  • Implementing and reviewing all office related policies and procedures.
  • Implementing and maintaining procedures/office administrative systems.
  • Management of internal initiatives and events.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in balancing achievement of own objectives with abilities to understand and respond to organisational needs;
  • Continually assess systems to identify gaps and what could be improved or automated.


About you:

  • An understanding of both hard and soft facilities services.
  • Experience in health and safety compliance – certification preferred.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in the use of word, Excel and Outlook.
  • The capacity to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing workloads.
  • Good typing, spelling and grammatical skills.
