Maxwell Stephens have been asked to recruit for a senior maintenance engineer taking care of a historic building. The Senior Maintenance Engineer will report to the Head of Facilities Management and work with the Estates Operations Team, Capital Projects team and all internal & external stakeholders to deliver and manage the Engineering Infrastructure Maintenance & Estates Strategy across all building services.

Your Role

Support the Head of Facilities Management to develop and execute technical appraisals as required ensuring buildings, equipment and plant are maintained and operated at the optimum level to assure efficiency, comfort, and asset life expectancies in line with industry standards & practice. 

To monitor all Hard Service contract delivery for Planned Preventative and Reactive maintenance to all buildings on a day-to-day basis.

Support the Capital Projects Team with specifications, drawings and tender documents for building services improvement or plant replacement.

Manage all compliance issues and maintain all necessary registers and reports. Maintain good budget administration and raise potential overspend issues. Advise on and provide budget forecasting.

 Skills and Experience

Substantial contract management experience in a complex technical environment. Experience of project/supply chain procurement and management.

An understanding of the Energy market. Thorough knowledge and experience of managing engineering and maintenance operations across a large multi-site portfolio.

Experience of building and maintaining effective working relationships, with the ability to communicate clearly, confidently and persuasively with people at all levels both orally and in writing, including the ability to communicate complex technical issues to non technical audiences.

Excellent written and oral communication skills. Generic ICT literacy (eg. Word; e mail, use of databases, CAFM systems and BMS).

Formal professional engineering qualification (HND) or theoretical Electrical or Mechanical engineering knowledge to ONC/BTEC level or equivalent. Professional Membership of a recognised industry body (CIBSE, IET etc.). Thorough knowledge of statutory regulations relating to Building Services Engineering and the Built Environment.

Degree in Building services or energy related field and Chartered or working towards Chartered status would be beneficial.
