Maxwell Stephens have been asked to recruit on behalf of the client for a role of a Premises Assistant in the West London area.

Your job responsibilities
A major aspect of your role will be repairs, decoration, porterage, security and maintenance of the buildings and furniture.
You will report to the Premises Manager or the Assistant Premises Manager in the absence of the Premises Manager. The team will consist of the Assistant Premises Manager, six premises Assistants which two of them are team leaders and two security concierge’s.
It will be your responsibility to report any defects that the client comes across and inform the Premises Manager/Assistant Premises Manager if you cannot carry out the repair yourself.
You will need to be able to facilitate the opening and closing of the building as directed by the Premises Manager and to ensure the building is secure at all times. It is essential that all doors and windows are locked up as well as all equipment turned off before locking up the building. The role will require you to attend call outs if any alarms have been activated.
Outside of the hours of the contract cleaners, your role will require you to spot clean, sweep away leaves and puddles away from the building and gritting walkways when needed. You will need to participate in a full cleaning programme on some occasions which will include stripping and sealing floors and the movement of furniture.
You will need to be able to facilitate the distribution of deliveries and parcels.
The health and Safety Policy is adhered to and you need to comply with your duty of care responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
The role will consist of working on a Rota based system of 40 hours per week. The shifts work rotate on a weekly basis. The Team Leader will be responsible for the team on duty and the allocation of your duties. There is potential of overtime if there are any events that occur within the premises.
Repair, Maintenance and decoration skills are necessary.
To be able to carry our minor repairs and regular maintenance work of the building, interior and exterior, as well as to some furniture and equipment
You need to have good interpersonal skills, be a team player however able to work on your own. You need to have good communication skills, along with time management and ability to prioritize.
You need to be self-motivated and forward planner, to be confident and resilient.
You also need to be able too be flexible and adaptable and willing to undertake any further or ongoing training as necessary. You will be provided with any training that you require to be able to carry out your job to the best of your ability and be provided with PPE where necessary.
First Aider and SIA training will be a prerequisite of the position. Vaccinations for Tetanus will be provided if necessary.
