Maxwell Stephens are recruiting for an Interim Head of Technical Services

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for strategy, implementation of robust performance measures and strong day to day management of all technical aspects of a large complex site in West London.

You will ensure that the planned maintenance, preventative maintenance and event day support provided by the team of in-house and external experts is of the very highest standards.  You will crucially also take control and management of two major contracts delivered by outsourced providers along with management of several in-house teams including Logistics, Project Management, Event Technical Operations and CAD.

  • Strong and structured management of key maintenance contracts, Technical Services, Project Management, Environmental Management and Logistics Services to the sites and its internal and external clients.
  • To identify, reduce and manage all risks (technical, statutory, health and safety, commercial or otherwise) associated with each and every area of responsibility
  • Accountable for ensuring all procurement is undertaken in a dynamic manner
  • Providing strong and consistent leadership, support, practical help and mentoring to the team as part of the development
  • Close liaison, input, management and driving the Project Management Team
  • Work closely with event teams
  • Driving down costs
  • Create, establish and implement a long term fabric improvement and maintenance programme
  • The creation of innovative technical solutions

Required Experience

  • Relevant building or engineering degree
  • Project Management qualification
  • Experience of large scale project management
  • Experience of developing and implementing a quality management system,
  • Experience of leading and managing successfully multiple teams in a performance driven environment
  • Successful record of establishing, managing and developing strategic business relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrable experience of contributing to wider business objectives and performance
  • Experience of operational management excellence in a high profile venue
  • In depth understanding of a broad range of engineering issues for building maintenance
  • Experience of leading and successfully managing large teams
  • Successful career history of a structured and process driven approach to managing third party contractors

Significant experience of managing service level agreements and measuring performance based on SLA’s and KPIs
