Our client is an internationally recognised educational establishment, are now seeking an experienced Head of Campus Operations for their PFI Contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • To define project scope and approve and manage delivery projects to meet the requirements of the Campus clients
  • To agree and manage the hard and soft service levels with
  • To monitor and review the service recharge rates in accordance with the agreed SLA’s with the support of the Assistant Director/Director of Operations
  • To deliver high quality project outcomes ensuring added value, increased productivity and cost efficiencies wherever possible;
  • To exercise budget control in the management of expenditure and income within agreed budgets, with regular monitoring of actual performance variances, and to take the necessary remedial action when required;
  • To plan and approve lifecycle costs for both buildings
  • To promote the highest standards of customer care and monitor the quality of all services provided to customers using appropriate techniques;
  • To actively support and promote the interaction between Helpdesk and the Estates & Facilities Service Desk
  • To be responsible for taking appropriate action on Key Performance Indicators as directed
  • To be responsible for driving out the Campus Optimisation Change Programme
  • To plan, drive and demonstrate a cost saving model cross campus
  • To support Campus Operations towards achieving a standardised, professional standard within FM by way of Workplace / Student experience
  • To be responsible for supporting the Assistant Director Campus Operations Health Faculties with service development activities to suit the client needs
  • To collaborate closely with the Assistant Director Campus Operations Health Faculties and Director of Operations in the formulation of suitable strategies to meet the demands of service provision, ongoing improvement and adaptation to changing processes
  • To recruit, select, motivate and manage the project management and direct employed team and ensure ongoing development to the highest standards of professionalism and customer service
  • To develop and maintain good communication and relationships at all levels
  • To be part of the facilities management out-of-hours team, ensuring the successful delivery of all FM services within the full operational coverage (i.e. 7 days, 365 days a year)
  • To comply with the Policies, Plans and Procedures
  • To fulfil Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the College’s Health & Safety Policy and Health & Safety Management Plans
  • To ensure all College and statutory requirements for a safe environment and working practices are met. To be accountable for the results and rectification of any issues arising as a consequence of the formal audits undertaken periodically
  • To undertake such other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as may reasonably be required within the Department / Service
  • To ensure the College’s sustainability agenda is delivered in the PFI buildings and to support the Head of Sustainability to deliver year on year energy and carbon reductions across the estate
  • To liaise closely with ley stakeholders, producing reports/business cases as required and chairing or playing an active part in regular stakeholder meetings.

Person Specification

  • Educated to graduate level
  • Member of an appropriate professional body holding a relevant post graduate qualification
  • NEBOSH/IOSH qualification
  • PRINCE2 or other Project management qualification
  • Extensive experience in delivering project management services
  • Experience of compliance/H&S Regs pertaining to building management and project delivery
  • Experience of change management
  • Experience of budget control/management
  • Experience of procurement processes and contractor management
  • Financial and commercial acumen
  • Logical, systematic problem solver
  • Ability to effectively disseminate/communicate information to a variety of audiences and levels
  • Previous experience in managing multi – disciplinary teams
  • Previous experience of working with a PFI contract
