Facilities Assistant (Part Time)
Back to Vacancies ListMaxwell Stephens have been assigned by a charity to recruit for a Part Time Facilities Assistant to join their team on a temporary basis.
Key Responsibilities
Property Maintenance Duties:
- Undertake minor repairs (i.e. not requiring qualified craftsperson) such as changing light bulbs and building flat packed furniture
- Act as the point of contact for reporting of faulty equipment and arrange for repairs if required
- Updating signage and noticeboards, as per requirements of the centre manager
- In the absence of the centre manager to arrange emergency contractor visits
- Monitoring the heat, cooling, and other environmental system within the building
- Taking pride in building presentation, tidying up/putting things away as necessary, reporting any ongoing concerns to the centre manager
- Managing the ongoing relationship with the cleaning contractor
Health & Safety
- Trained as a first aider and fire marshal (ideally)
- To carry out the weekly fire alarm test and monthly fire alarm test logging this information in the fire log book
- To carry out the building monthly emergency lighting test and inspection of the fire extinguishers
- Being an integral part of the H&S management of the building (prior experience in H&S management desirable but not essential)
- To look after the water management within the building
Building Security
- To be lead administrator for the building access control system, issuing and terminating access passes as necessary
- Manual handling of onsite deliveries
- In the event of staff absence to perform the building shutdown to ensure optimum building security and energy conservation
Facilities Management/Admin
- To review contracts to ensure we are getting the best possible deal
- To create a schedule of maintenance activities and to ensure getting the good and services we are being charged for
- To ensure the costs effect procurement of goods and services as required
- Liaising with contractors regarding the various works on site
