Maxwell Stephens has been appointed by our client to recruit a Director of Maintenance & FM, who will lead on technical, FM and general maintenance of the FM department while holding the key leadership position within development across multiple sites. This role will require you to closely liaise with numerous stakeholders and other members of staff.
You will have an honours degree or equivalent experience in the facilities management area, and chartered professional qualification or equivalent.
You will have substantial post-education experience in facilities services, working with multiple sites and in a diverse range of sectors.
For this role you will have excellent time management especially under pressure, judgement and alongside this you will have exceptional staff management skills to ensure you are able to communicate with all staff effectively as you will be the direct line manager for serval members of staff. With this you need to be able to delegate and lead with a positive attitude towards problem solving.
This role will require you to be able to work flexibly across the campus to ensure that you meet any targets.
Your Responsibilities and Duties
In this role you will have several key responsibilities these include:
- Ensuring that all elements buildings and systems relating to Fire Safety and Health and Safety are maintained in accordance with good practice, legislation and agreed
- Ensuring that the buildings are maintained to a high sta
- To provide professional and technical advice on infrastructure.
In this role there will be a substantial amount of change management and restructuring that will be needed in addition to the other responsibilities you will take on.
Health and Safety will be a huge aspect of your role, you will ensure that everyone is complying to H&S regulations and carrying out risk assessments where necessary. You will also partake in stakeholder meetings to ensure all projects that are undertook are under full consideration of H&S.
There are a key other key areas you need to be knowledgeable in, these include:
- Budget management
- Staff management
- Environment and Sustainability
- Statutory compliance
You will lead on implementing a operational plans and lead on all environmental and sustainability initiatives. This is all to ensure that all the buildings are maintained to a high standard. You will also lead on implementing strategy
This role will require you to also understand any other duties that are reasonable from time to time.
