Maxwell Stephens have been asked to recruit on behalf of a healthcare establishment for a Domestic and Porter Manager.

The Domestic and Porter Manager will deliver and develop a well organised, compliant and cost effective domestic & porter service to the establishment. Planning, controlling, measuring, reporting and improving performance within the allocated resource to the standards required by the Company and Trust.

Your Role

You will ensure systems are in place for capturing, managing and reporting performance. You will deliver all contractual requirements within agreed timeframes.

You will ensure the service is compliant with legislative and contractual requirements

You will implement all relevant HSE procedures within the unit and review them as appropriate. You will ensure that all HSE incidents are correctly reported and investigated with relevant reviews of work procedures.

You will manage sickness, absence and attendance as well as managing department non-labour costs.

You will be involved in regular meetings with direct reports and department representatives. You will liaise with clients to identify, develop and implement service improvements.

Skills and Experience

You will experience in promoting and ensuring compliance to Health and Safety requirements. You will also have experience of leading and managing a domestic or porter team in a healthcare environment.

You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to manage people.

You will have knowledge of domestic and porter services in healthcare and the operational challenges faced on a daily basis. You will continually strive for simple, efficient ways of working.

You will be able to develop and implement innovative solutions and remove barriers to change. You will be organised and have a considered approach to problem solving.

You will be IT literate.
