Back to Vacancies ListMaxwell Stephens have been asked to recruit on behalf of an educational facility for a Procurement Manager.
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategic plans for designated categories of goods and services.
Your Role
You will develop category plans and sourcing strategies, working with key business stakeholders, to address and meet business needs in line with the Procurement Strategy and associated procedures and practices.
You will be responsible for managing compliant procurement processes from specification development to award of contract ensuring appropriate and timely input from business stakeholders and managing all associated risks.
You will review and draft terms and conditions of contract and provide advice to others on appropriate forms of contract.
You will develop procurement systems, electronic and other, to enhance and improve processes and to deliver useful management information that aids the category management process.
Skills and Experience
You will be educated to degree level. A relevant professional qualification, such as MCIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply), or a directly comparable equivalent or working towards getting it.
You will have experience in stakeholder management, providing expert advice and guidance to Senior members or equivalent levels in other organisations), operating at board level in dealings with contractors.
You will be an expert on all aspects of procurement processes.
You will have good knowledge of tools and techniques to help manage procurement at different levels: Supply Positioning, Supplier Preferencing and Opportunity Analysis.
A strong corporate player, able to develop shared approaches with colleagues and beyond and enable joined-up planning and shared values and objectives.
You will have strong written and oral communication skills. You will also have strong influencing and negotiation skills, pro-active and persuasive with a solution focus.
