Maxwell Stephens have been asked to recruit on behalf of Queen Mary University of London for an excellent role of Facilities & Centre Manager.

The Facilities & Centre Manager holder is accountable for the overall delivery of Facilities Management operations to an independent building in Central London.

Your Role

You will maintain operational oversight of building operations, reception, health and safety and IT.

You will be accountable for Facilities Management financial budgets and supporting with the annual budget planning, forecasting and spend management, ensuring all financial policies are strictly adhered to.

You will lead on the procurement and strategic review of Facilities Management supplier contracts and services, ensuring a balance of quality and value for money is achieved.

You will manage relationships with building landlord’s managing agent, liaising with the QMUL Estates and Facilities Directorate concerning the building’s leases, operational matters and maintenance and refurbishment projects.

Leading and empowering all Facilities Management staff in the delivery of consistently high levels of customer service to students, staff and visitors.

In this role you will take responsibility for and coordinating the cleaning and security.

This role will make you use your analytical and problem solving capabilities in order to regularly engage with stakeholders and to strategically develop building services.


Skills and Experience

You have A-Level qualifications or equivalent relevant experience.

Alongside this you are educated to an undergraduate level or equivalent.

As well as this you have a Health and Safety qualification such as an IOSH.

You have significant experience in a similar or related role, demonstrating development through involvement in a series of progressively more demanding work roles.

You have experience of managing the activities of yourself and other involved.

Alongside this you have experience of working within Higher Education or similar public sector environment.

Using your strong problem-solving you have the ability to identifying gaps/problems and implementing effective solutions.
