Maxwell Stephens have been asked to recruit on behalf of the client for the role of Head of Estates and Facilities for an educational trust.

Where you will develop a strategic masterplan for each school in the Trust and manage the delivery of major capital projects.

You will line manage the Estates and Facilities Team while ensuring that all the schools are high quality learning environments.


About You

 For this role you will be educated to degree standard in a relevant discipline (architecture, building, engineering, facilities management, project management, surveying or similar) or have equivalent work-based experience.

You demonstrate outstanding line management skills and can implement a ‘one team’ sense across multiple sites.

Alongside this you have experience of major capital project management.

You have in depth knowledge of operational practice and quality standards as well as a sound knowledge of Health and Safety compliance.

What You Will Be Doing

 In this role you will lead, shape and develop a strategic Trust Estates Masterplan and individual estate development plans for each academy, and lead the implementation of these plans within the Trust to deliver the objectives for each individual academy and the Trust as a whole.

As well as this you will lead on estates-related issues relating to land & buildings, freehold & leasehold tenure and other related matters (e.g. sub lettings).

This role will see you provide oversight across all aspects of the estates & facilities function, including health & safety, planned preventative maintenance (PPMs), procurement, building fabric, mechanical & electrical infrastructure, facilities management and cleaning contracts.

Alongside this you will project manage major capital projects, utilising external professional teams as needed. To act as the Health and Safety Coordinator for Construction Design Management projects, and to perform similar roles in relation to asbestos control, legionella and health & safety.
