Back to Vacancies ListJoin a cutting-edge energy project at the forefront of London’s decarbonisation effort as the Principal Project Manager for a key Central London Heat and Power network on an initial 2 year contract.
With two key responsibilities – managing the existing PFI contract and acting as project sponsor – you’ll play a crucial role in supporting and aligning several prestigious organisations of the as they work to replace, upgrade, and decarbonise their existing Heat and Power network.
In this role, you’ll lead the project team, negotiate with stakeholders, manage financial aspects, and ensure the project is delivered to program. You’ll also have the opportunity to innovate as you oversee the connection of new buildings and maintain the Heat and Power energy management policy. Essential :
-
- An extensive background in project management, building engineering, energy engineering or equivalent.
- Experience of energy management, preferably across multiple organisations.
- Proven ability to deliver quality projects on a programme and within budget while working with a diverse range of complex stakeholders with varied drivers and governance requirements.
- Proven experience of successfully delivering projects exposed to a high level of uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity.
- Highly developed communication skills with the ability to present complex information confidently, clearly and concisely.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Technical Knowledge :
- Understanding of district heating network operation, design, and construction.
- Extensive knowledge of low carbon heating and heat generation systems.
- Knowledge of codes of conduct and best practice for district heating networks.
- In depth knowledge of contractual strategies including a working knowledge of the various forms of contract and dealing with contractual claims.
- Strong IT skills with experience of using Microsoft Office and project planning software (e.g. MS Project).
- Working understanding of RIBA design stages.
Essential :
Relevant degree in engineering, energy management or an equivalent relevant professional qualification (RICS, MCIOB, CEng, RIBA)
