Maxwell Stephens are delighted to have been asked by the client to recruit for the role of Head of Facilities Management and Estates.

This role is working for Unite Students who are the leading provider of student accommodation in the UK, providing homes for 74000 students, across 25 cities.

The purpose of this role is to provide strategic leadership and effective management of the facilities and central estates functions. With the key responsibility to provide a safe and secure environment for all students and colleagues.

About You

 You are educated to a degree level in a relevant discipline.

As well as this you have a broad experience in the preparation and control of development programmes, buildings and engineering projects at a senior management level.

You are an innovative thinker who can identify areas to improve on while having excellent organisation and planning skills.

Alongside all of this you are an approachable character who is able to coach and communicate both verbally and in written communications. This all makes you an excellent leader.

 

Your Responsibilities

 In this role you will be responsible for creating the framework for estates and facilities ways of working, along with the providing the resources needed to maintain the buildings in the condition and clean to the agreed standards in-keeping with our brand.

You will oversee the development and delivery of plans for the maintenance and upkeep of the estate and grounds, from routine PPM to major projects.

As part of this role you will implement the programme for capital expenditure across the portfolio.

Using your interpersonal skills you will  act as ambassador to ensure effective working relationships with the property team on development, building and refurbishment projects.

Furthering this you will work with key stakeholders to develop relevant policies and standards.

This role will see you develop, source, implement and maximise the right tools and technology for estates and facilities functions, such as a best in class CAFM tool.

All of this will be done while you still ensure that all the buildings are legally compliant at all times.
