Maxwell Stephens have been asked to recruit on behalf of an educational facility for a Buildings and Facilities Manager.

The Buildings and Facilities Manager will be responsible for the smooth and effective operation and maintenance of onsite and offsite buildings and grounds.

Your Role

You will ensure all buildings are fully operational and accessible on a day-to-day basis, meeting health and safety and other requirements.

You will create and implement a long-term and annual planned and preventative maintenance schedule for the buildings. You will also identify and engage contractors to carry out substantive repair and maintenance tasks as required.

You will be responsible for purchasing goods such as office stationery and IT equipment as required and ensure agreed services contracts (e.g., cleaning etc.) are in the best interests of the company.

You will manage short-term rental College buildings, properties, and facilities. You will manage tenancy agreements the College has for its student accommodation.

You will be responsible for maintaining health and safety and other records and documentation.

Skills and Experience

You will have experience in project management and procurement. Facilities Management and Health and Safety qualifications would be beneficial.

You will be a proactive individual who has worked in a similar role and can effectively manage a diverse workload.

You will be able to work independently, have a ‘can do’ attitude, work flexibly and be solution and delivery oriented.  You will possess excellent people skills and work in a collaborative way. You will be comfortable performing manual and AV/IT-related tasks.

You will be willing to undertake training as necessary to safely perform their duties including those on the grounds.

The postholder will be required to complete a DBS check by the employer.
