Maxwell Stephens have been asked to recruit on behalf of the client for a Maintenance Services Engineer. In this role you will aid the team manage support to the complex consisting of more than 200 buildings valued within the billions of pounds. With a budget of £30m, you will be entirely responsible of the allocation
Develop and deliver LEV & LAB Equipment services to meet CI&O priorities, through a range of service providers.
Responsible for allocated budget for repairs and breakdowns.
Plan, prioritise, co-ordinate and deliver projects/tasks; liaise closely with other
Professional & Technical staff within Estates to ensure coordinated, effective, customer focused solutions and delivery
Provide relevant specialist advice and support to colleagues and customers to meet the overall mission of UCL.
Draft minor project briefs and documentation, specifications and service standards; manage tender process, service delivery and the performance of service providers, including contractors and DLO as appropriate.
Assist in the procurement of equipment and services, drafting briefs/instructions, defining requirements, attending demonstrations etc.
Manage/undertake inspections, surveys, risk assessments, feasibility studies and diagnostic fault finding and initiate appropriate actions; establish the most practical and effective resolution of problems
Manage maintenance projects ensuring compliance with specifications, cost estimates and timescales
Liaise frequently with other Estates Project Managers to ensure that maintenance needs arising from new construction and major refurbishment are recognised, recorded and planned.
Drive Contactor management (Financial, Quality, Site management/safety, and Performance) taking ownership as UCL client representative on project works, service delivery within role
A good general education with sound literacy and numeracy skills.
Advanced oral and written skills, coupled with strong administrative writing, reporting, presenting and interpersonal.
Experience in working cooperatively/strategically in a team environment with all levels of personnel, internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrable success in developing and managing relationships with support functions, stakeholders and third-party suppliers.
Relevant professional qualification and experience. Evidence of ongoing self- development/training.
Educated to degree status and membership of relevant professional body.
Possesses and promotes a positive attitude, an ability to adapt swiftly with a willingness to undertake challenging tasks.
Results focused, ability to work at pace whilst maintaining high standards with accuracy and detail
Flexibility to work outside of core hours where appropriate to meet business requirements.
