Maxwell Stephens have been asked to recruit on behalf of the client for the role Engineering Team Leader in London.

The successful candidate will be responsible for Assistant Engineering Team Manager and Senior Maintenance Technician, you would be responsible to the Lead Engineer.

About the role

You will be accountable for the provision, operation and reactive maintenance of all services, plant and equipment and making sure every effort is made to optimize energy efficient operation.

Ensuring that maximum operational usage of all hard facilities that will benefit the business.

Your role will require you to ensure that all repairs are carried out within the SLA’s. ensuring that all relevant Health and Safety legislations and documents are fully complied as well as by the team.

You will look into whether all maintenance operations are undertaken in a safe efficient and timely manner.

Your role will allow you to develop and maintain a building by building risk Register including in routine reporting.

You will be required to provide a monthly report to the Head of Engineering.

You will also be required to carry out monthly 121’s and follow the Performance Development Plan. You will need to ensure that Team Leaders carry out these regular catch ups with their team members.

You will collaborate with a specific team leader to ensure that critical and non-critical engineering and infrastructure is maintained to the correct standards. You will also need to collaborate with teams to ensure a one team approach and attain a high standard of customer service.

Within your role, you will need to carry out regular inspections across the premises, report defects and arrange timely rectifications


About You

  • HND/HNC in Building Services
  • Relevant professional qualifications together with relevant practical experience
  • NEBOSH qualified
  • High standard of general education including English and Math’s at GCSE
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills coupled with an ability to direct/motivate internal and external teams and contractors
  • Good level of computer literacy
  • Track record in energy reduction
  • Ability to prepare accurate reports and summaries
  • A thorough understanding of health and safety legislation
  • Articulate, tactful and diplomatic when dealing with staff at all levels
  • Ability to work on own initiative and to prioritise workload, whilst working to tight deadlines
  • An organised and methodical approach to work

Experience in working within the critical engineering environment and a Degree within Engineering or Facilities Management would be desirable.
