From there, the client provides financial advice and investment opportunities to large business, families, individuals and governments. The interior of the building is astonishing, reflecting and respecting the history of the company.
You bring many years’ experience of managing and leading small but dedicated maintenance teams to this new position. You’re very comfortable with fire detection, sprinkler, heating, cooling, ventilation, sanitation, wet cooling towers, BMS and life safety systems. You have a very good working electrical knowledge and understanding of LV switching.
You’ve worked for corporate organisations before where you used a dedicated Helpdesk software system to manage the flow of reactive and planned work streams. It’s that and your ability to make decisions under pressure while managing risk that make you ideal for this role.

You’re qualified to NEBOSH Health and Safety standards. You bring to the role City and Guilds certifications in Electrotechnical Level 3 (+17th edition) and Accredited Legionella Management (Level 8) or equivalents thereof.
About the role
As maintenance supervisor, you’ll be in charge of overseeing and coordinating the client’s in-house maintenance and engineering divisions. You’ll be leading a professional, dedicated, and friendly team who respond to immediate operational problems. Working with them, you’ll maintain and repair all electrical, mechanical, plumbing and other building systems, including building fabric works and occasional intra-company office moves. You’ll also evaluate problematic systems or facilities, deciding which installation or repair services are needed in each situation.
You’ll manage the shift teams and be responsible for scheduling the rota. You’ll also manage the Helpdesk and all of the necessary activities needed to produce world-class customer service delivery.
Our client will need you to keep its statutory maintenance records up to date and accurate. You’re the client’s lead in keeping a safe and healthy working environment and you’ll do that by following the client’s standards and procedures, complying the legal codes and regulations. At all times, you’ll maintain an excellent working relationship and close communications with the Operations Manager and his team.
Co-ordination of work will take up most of your time for our client. You’ll need to be constantly vigilant for any system or component failure. Should one occur, our client will need you to undertake a business risk evaluation and prioritise the response needed either from your in-house team or a specialist contractor. As part of your daily role, you’ll undertake detailed planning and prioritisation of reactive, planned and emergency work.
When dealing with contractors, you’ll be responsible for issuing permissions to access and work permits. You’ll distribute incoming work assignments to specialist contractors where necessary, including selecting the firm to work on that project. You’ll manage and coordinate the activities needed to make sure compliance requirements are kept up to date for outside contractors. You’ll also raise purchase orders for extra works, tools and consumables.
In addition, you’ll monitor the CAFM – issuing reactive tasks ensuring completion within service level agreements. You’ll also organise regular testing of life safety systems.
