In brief

A 7 November 2026 snapshot of advertised pay in 22 Maxwell Stephens public roles. Explicit pay units, source adverts and limits; not a UK salary average.

The Facilities Management Salary Index records advertised pay and pay disclosure in Maxwell Stephens’ public vacancy portfolio. This edition is a snapshot taken on 7 November 2026: 22 open public adverts, of which 15 state numeric pay. It is not a UK-wide salary survey, an accepted-offer dataset or a measure of salary growth.

What this edition measures

  • 22 unique adverts that were published, marked open and neither draft nor archived, with no closing date before the snapshot date.
  • 15 adverts disclose numeric pay: 14 annual amounts and one PAYE daily rate.
  • Seven adverts describe the package without a numeric salary or rate.
  • The sample includes different functions and seniorities. No pooled salary average is calculated.

Advertised salary and rate figures

These figures were visible in the public adverts at the snapshot. An ‘up to’ amount is a ceiling, not a midpoint. Annual, pro rata, full-time-equivalent and daily figures remain separate. Benefits and variable pay are not added to base pay.

How employers should use the index

Use individual examples to improve a recruitment discussion, not to set pay from a mixed-role average. Compare estate complexity, authority, team, location, working arrangements and total reward. Our Facilities Manager Salary Guide and Facilities Director Salary Guide provide the separate role-based guidance. Their figures and methods should not be blended with this advert snapshot.

What cannot be concluded

This sample does not show the distribution of pay across the UK profession, what candidates accepted, how many people applied or how quickly a role was filled. It excludes confidential mandates. A small group of adverts with undisclosed pay can materially change the visible mix. Do not interpret the difference between this edition and an earlier portfolio as salary inflation.

Method and source register

All 534 vacancy CMS records were checked for eligibility. Inclusion required publication, non-draft and non-archived item status, an open public advert flag and a closing date not earlier than 7 November 2026. The 22 included public pages were opened and checked. One record is one advert; advertised role counts are not employer headcounts or vacancy flows.

Pay uses the recorded amount, currency and explicit pay unit, checked against the public JobPosting output. All disclosed figures in this edition are GBP. Missing pay stays undisclosed. Daily rates are not annualised, and pro rata/FTE labels are retained. A salary range is not evidence that everyone in that title is paid inside it.

The FM Intelligence Index Q3 baseline preserves its own 30 September 2026 capture and method. This November snapshot does not replace that historical record. A change series would need repeatable capture, controlled definitions and a review of how the role mix changed.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the average Facilities Manager salary in the UK?

No. It is a dated record of pay disclosed in one recruitment firm’s open public adverts. It mixes role levels and service areas and does not calculate a national average.

Are daily rates converted into annual salaries?

No. Daily, annual, full-time-equivalent and pro rata figures remain labelled separately. Converting them would require assumptions about working days, benefits and assignment terms.

Key takeaways

  • 22 adverts; 15 numeric disclosures; snapshot dated 7 November 2026.
  • Read each pay figure with its scope and basis.
  • Use a role-specific benchmark and a clear brief before deciding a package.
